Café Central Starts the Holidays Off Right with “12 Days of Café Central Celebration”

Café Central launched via their Facebook account their 12 days of Café Central celebration to address the growing food insecurity in Baldwin County.

Baldwin County is one of the top counties with food insecurity in Georgia, and the community has struggled to address it. Head chef and executive organizer of Café Central, Jim Humphries, said, “Milledgeville has struggled over the past 30 years with addressing the growing food insecurity. Milledgeville finds itself in a weird spot where they focus so much on the college that they can easily forget about the various communities outside of the college.”

 This prompted Humphries to aid the community by launching the 12 Days of Café Central Celebration. The celebration will start on December 10th and will continue through December 22nd.  Café Central will be open to everyone from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. throughout the 12-day celebration. Each day will have various holiday-style dinners with ham, turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, and much more.

Jim Humphries said, “This will require a lot of time and help from our community. We have already received a lot of support through Facebook and plan to spread the message through other platforms.”

Café Central is open to all donations and sponsors through their Facebook and new website, www.cafecentral.com. What are some other ways you can help?
